FAQs
What is coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative process designed to help you better understand where you are, where you want to go, and what may be getting in the way.
At Colbert's Corner, coaching focuses on self-awareness, emotional understanding, decision-making, personal growth, life transitions, and turning insight into intentional action. Rather than telling you what you should do, coaching provides a structured space to explore your experiences, identify patterns, clarify what matters to you, and develop practical next steps.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaching and therapy can both involve reflection, self-awareness, and meaningful conversation, but they have different purposes.
Coaching at Colbert's Corner focuses primarily on personal growth, self-understanding, decision-making, life transitions, goals, and moving forward with greater clarity and intention.
Coaching is not psychotherapy, psychological treatment, or a substitute for mental health care. If you are experiencing a mental health concern that requires clinical treatment, coaching may not be the appropriate service. In those situations, seeking support from a qualified mental health professional is recommended.
If you're unsure whether coaching is appropriate for what you're experiencing, you're welcome to discuss that during your free consultation.
Who is coaching for?
Coaching is for adults who are ready to explore themselves more deeply and make intentional changes in their lives.
You may benefit from coaching if you:
Feel stuck or uncertain about what's next
Are navigating a significant life transition
Are considering a career or personal change
Find yourself repeatedly experiencing the same patterns
Struggle with overthinking or second-guessing decisions
Feel disconnected from what matters to you
Want greater emotional awareness
Want support turning insight into action
Know something needs to change but aren't sure where to begin
You don't have to arrive with everything figured out. Sometimes knowing that something feels different is enough of a place to start.

Finding greater alignment between your values and your actions
The goal isn't to force you into a predetermined solution. It's to help you better understand your situation and determine what meaningful progress looks like for you.
Your first coaching session is an opportunity to slow down and begin understanding what's happening in your life.
We'll explore what's bringing you to coaching, what you're experiencing, what you'd like to be different, and what you hope to gain from the process.
There isn't a test you need to pass or a perfect way to explain your situation. You can simply start where you are.
From there, we'll begin identifying what deserves attention and what direction may be most useful for our work together.
Coaching sessions are approximately 60 minutes unless otherwise specified by your selected coaching package.
The goal isn't to fill an hour simply for the sake of filling an hour. Each session is structured around what is most useful to you at that point in your coaching journey.
The frequency of coaching depends on your goals, circumstances, and selected package.
Some people benefit from focused support around a specific situation, while others prefer consistent coaching over a longer period of time.
During your free consultation, we can discuss what level of support may make the most sense for you.
Colbert's Corner offers several levels of coaching support designed for different needs and levels of commitment.
Current options include:
Clarity Session — focused, single-session support.
Momentum Package — a four-session coaching experience for developing momentum around a specific area of growth.
Continued Growth — ongoing monthly coaching for continued reflection, accountability, and personal development.
For current pricing and package details, please visit the Coaching page or schedule a free consultation to discuss which option best fits your needs.
Yes. Coaching can be conducted virtually, allowing you to participate from wherever you are most comfortable.
Virtual sessions provide the same opportunity for focused conversation, reflection, exploration, and intentional action without requiring you to travel.
In-person coaching availability depends on location and scheduling.
If you're interested in meeting in person, mention that during your consultation so we can discuss current availability and options.
That's completely okay.
You don't need to have a clearly defined problem before beginning coaching.
Sometimes people know they're overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or ready for something different without knowing exactly why. That's a valid starting point.
Part of the coaching process is creating enough space to explore what's happening, identify what matters, and clarify where you want to go.
You don't have to arrive with the answers. You just have to be willing to explore the questions.
Your privacy and trust are important parts of the coaching relationship.
Information shared during coaching is treated respectfully and kept private within the appropriate professional and legal boundaries.
Because coaching is not psychotherapy, confidentiality is governed differently than it may be in a clinical therapeutic relationship. During your initial consultation, you can ask any questions you have about privacy, communication, and the coaching relationship.
I'll tell you.
A free consultation isn't simply an opportunity to sell you a coaching package. It's also an opportunity to determine whether coaching is appropriate for what you're looking for and whether we're a good fit to work together.
If your needs fall outside the scope of coaching, I'll let you know and encourage you to seek an appropriate resource.
The goal is to make sure you receive the type of support that is appropriate for you.
If we determine that coaching is a good fit, I'll explain the available coaching options and help you determine which level of support makes the most sense for you. You can then decide whether you'd like to move forward. There is no obligation to purchase coaching during the consultation.
You don't have to figure everything out before reaching out.
If you're wondering whether coaching is right for you, the easiest way to find out is to have a conversation.
